SDAPHCC Educational Foundation Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by South Dakota Association of Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors
Purpose
The SDAPHCC Educational Foundation awards scholarships to support individuals training for careers in the plumbing, heating, and cooling trades. The program is aimed primarily at students participating in trade-related training within South Dakota.
Award
Each year two scholarships of $2,000 each will be granted.
Eligibility
- Applicants should be planning a career in the plumbing, heating, or cooling industry.
- Graduating high school seniors and non-traditional students are welcome to apply.
- Part-time enrollment will be considered if the applicant provides a reasonable explanation for not attending full time.
- Preference is given to candidates who are enrolled in—or intend to enroll in—a South Dakota-based training program and who will have out-of-pocket expenses associated with that program.
- Individuals may receive the scholarship up to twice (recipients may reapply for one additional training period); a maximum of two awards per person is allowed.
- Immediate family members of SDAPHCC Educational Foundation Board members are not eligible.
Application requirements
Submit a letter of application to the SDAPHCC Educational Foundation that includes:
- Applicant contact information
- A typewritten paragraph describing your career goals
- A sponsorship letter from an SDAPHCC member in good standing
- A letter of recommendation from someone influential in your life
- A brief summary of your work history (if applicable)
- Current grade transcripts (if you are a current student)
Deadline, submission, and notification
All application materials must be received by the SDAPHCC office by April 1. Documents may be delivered in person, mailed, or sent electronically. The selection decision will be made during April and applicants will be notified shortly thereafter.
Award disbursement and authority
Scholarship funds will be released after the Foundation receives a payment request form from the training institution. Final award decisions are made at the sole discretion of the SDAPHCC Educational Foundation Board of Directors.
